Ant carrying pupa- I don't know what it is!

Ant carrying pupa- I found this ant when I was out for a walk in the jungle. I remember being in awe of this little lady carrying her little sister. She’s beautiful, but I don’t know what she is.

Many years ago (2009), I volunteered in the jungle of Peru as a resident naturalist at a lodge called Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. There, I was in charge of doing research on ants and teaching the guides who worked at the lodge about the ants I observed.

In doing so, I created some fact sheets, that may not be that great, but that I thought were worth sharing. It gets a little bit of basic information out to any reader who’s interested in finding out some fun fact about these ants.

If there is inaccurate information or if you think the post would benefit from some newer facts, I’d be happy to hear from you.

Allomerus octoarticulatus

Atta

Azteca trigona

Cephalotes atratus

Dolichoderus

Eciton

Paraponera clavata

Pseudomyrmex
